Lima Bean Dinner with Honeysuckle

Join us on Saturday, October 2nd for a dinner celebrating Lima beans prepared by Chefs Omar Tate and Cybille St. Aude-Tate.  In partnership with the USDA, the University of Delaware, and UC Davis, we are trialling a number of heirloom and newly released Lima bean varieties.  This dinner will include a tour of our farm and an explanation of the research we’re conducting, as well as a meal that incorporates different varieties and preparations of Lima beans, paired with our pastured pork, chicken, and fresh produce. We will also be joined by farmer Scott Morgan of Morganics Family Farm, who is also participating in the Lima Bean Trials.

Our dear friends Omar and Cybille, who recently opened Honeysuckle on North Broad Street in Philadelphia, will join us on the farm to prepare a meal celebrating the versatility of the Lima bean. In addition to highlighting Limas, we will be celebrating our newly formalized partnership with Honeysuckle; a collaboration that has allowed us to regularly bring their kitchen staff to the farm, work together on crop planning and menu development, and to invest more time and effort into our other research projects, namely our sorghum molasses trials, experiments in Climate-Smart farming practices, and our work to restore the long-forgotten Jenny Lind melon.

Please join us for a four course, family-style dinner, with drink pairings, farm tour and welcome reception.
