Join us for a hands-on workshop and learn how to create new fruit trees through the ancient art of grafting. Participants will learn how to select scion wood, graft onto native rootstock, and care for newly grafted trees. In addition to newfound knowledge, participants will take home four plum trees; three grafted hybrid plums, and one American plum seedling for pollination.
The event will include a farm tour.
Saturday 3/28 from Noon-2:00/3:00pm (Official end time 2pm, guests welcome to stay for extra practice, extended farm tour, etc.)
Tickets are $65. Scion wood, rootstock, and grafting supplies provided. Grafting knives will be available to borrow, or can be purchased as an add-on below. Participants can also bring their own sharp pocketknives, and/or any additional plum scion wood they would like to graft.
Events are held rain or shine. While the workshop can take place under cover, there is a short walk to the barn from the parking area. Please dress accordingly, and wear shoes sturdy enough for a walk around the farm.
